I have been instructing shooters in firearms use for over 25 years. Starting out just helping out friends, family and fellow shooters on local ranges as a hobby. Teaching shooting to others is today a passion. After becoming a Correctional Officer (now retired) I became a little more serious teaching shooting skills and I began teaching fellow officers and helping them to meet the weapons qualification standards of the IDOC. Over ten years ago I opened T-M Firearms Training and began teaching defensive shooting and self-defense on a professional level. Over the years I have been afforded the opportunity to train with some of the best trainers in the world. As a Correctional Officer at a maximum-security penitentiary training requirements increased, I became a member of the penitentiary emergency squad and served there for five years training with some of the best in the state. During my Correctional career I maintained professional firearms permit as a Correctional Officer and a Senior Correctional Officer (Sergeant) and a Non-professional Permit to Carry Weapons. Today as the owner of T-M Firearms Training I teach defensive shooting on many levels, and I continue to expand my knowledge and experience by training with the best trainers and organizations in the world. I hold multiple certifications as a trainer in both public and private sectors and continue to add to them. I hold certifications with the NRA, USCCA, and the IDOC as an instructor and Training Counselor with the USCCA. I am a 6th Dan in Bushi Tai Jutsu, have been a competitive shooter, and have personal experience in the Use of Force. I have Military, Law Enforcement and private sector training and experience. I am very passionate and driven to help others become better shooters and educate them as responsible gun owners. I want my students to be better at gun handling and have better marksmanship skills at the end of the class than they were when they arrived, and I am very successful in achieving this goal through the use of proven and realistic training methodology.
